The Cozy Cocoon

Thea LOVES her Cozy Cocoon. It is a little sack that we put her in to sleep; it's MUCH easier than swaddling and has the same effect! She got the Cocoon from her Uncle Dan and Aunt Amy. Thanks, guys!

Thanks, Grandma!

Thea's grandmother ("Mutti") stayed at the Lierman household for 10 days after she was born. We all miss her and really appreciate all of her wonderful help!! Mutti also hand-stitched a beautiful quilt for Thea. It's something we're all so impressed with and will treasure it forever! Thanks, Mutti!

Amazing Great-Grandmother

Thea enjoyed being held by her great-grandmother, who celebrates her 90th birthday today. Thea and her great-grandmother share the same middle name -- Loree (Lo-REE).

July 1, 2008: The Birth of Thea

We've all been anxiously awaiting her arrival and she's finally here! Here's a quick synopsis of her birth: at her June 30th appointment (38 weeks gestation) Sarah's blood pressure was dangerously high. Sarah's doctor had been monitoring her blood pressure very closely the last few months of pregnancy and did not feel comfortable letting the pregnancy continue with such high blood pressure. She stated that an immediate induction was the best chance of a vaginal delivery. So anxiously we went home, packed our bags, tried to eat something and headed to the hospital. At 8:30 p.m. on the 30th of June the doctor broke Sarah's water. Daddy Matt and friend Kimi helped Sarah labor until 5:48 a.m., at which time our daughter made her grand entrance! Thea Loree weighed in at 6 lbs, 13 oz, 20 inches and has a full head of dark hair! We are so thankful that both mom and baby are healthy!
